Solvena

Overview

Solvena is a Netherlands-based privacy company. I led the team that built its multi-platform GDPR compliance software: a suite of connected tools that embeds privacy checks directly into the places people write, scanning content in real time and suggesting privacy-safe alternatives.

The challenge

Solvena needed one unified platform to automate GDPR compliance checks across many digital environments. That meant browser extensions, Microsoft Office add-ins and a desktop application that accurately spot privacy violations in real time, handle sensitive data to the highest security standards, cope with high traffic and deliver over 95% accuracy, with the ability to fine-tune large language models when needed.

My approach

1. Built and managed the cross-functional team behind the website, Office add-ins, browser extensions, desktop app and backend.
2. Translated GDPR requirements into clear product behaviour with compliance stakeholders.
3. Planned one shared API and database so findings from every platform roll up into a single dashboard.
4. Coordinated architecture, LLM fine-tuning and cloud deployments across JavaScript, TypeScript and C# components.

Outcome

A compliance ecosystem that lives where people write, moving GDPR checks from after-the-fact audits to the moment content is created.
