Overview

FIB, short for “Consistente Belastbaarheidsbepaling” (consistent work-capacity assessment), is a reporting tool for medical professionals in the Netherlands. A physician searches for a condition, picks an up-to-date capacity profile in the FML or IZP format, tailors it to the client and exports a finished report. I contributed to the architecture and backend delivery of the platform.

The challenge

Writing a capacity profile by hand is slow, and the result can vary from one professional to the next. Profiles have to follow current medical guidelines, and they relate to people’s health, so the product had to be fast and consistent while treating personal medical data with the strictest privacy standards.

My approach

1. Designed a search-first flow: look up the condition and the matching capacity profile is found in the database.
2. Built on pre-filled, editable FML and IZP formats so every report starts from consistent, guideline-based content.
3. Applied privacy by design: personal details are only linked to a profile after export, in the user’s own environment, so they are never stored in FIB.
4. Structured the product into Basic, Premium and custom plans, with Premium adding own logos and intro and outro texts.

Outcome

Capacity assessments that are efficient, consistent and accurate: grounded in specialised medical knowledge and current guidelines, and ready in minutes instead of hours.
